General information

Virgin PTFE/UTECFLON-1

UTECFLON-1 is an unfilled (virginal) PTFE (Polytetrafluorethylene) compound. PTFE is the most chemically resistant thermoplastic polymer existing and has outstanding chemical resistance to almost all chemicals and solvents. It has the lowest coefficient of friction of any solid material, is resistant to weathering and water-absorbtion and can be used over a wide range of temperature. PTFE has no memory and is subject to creep (“cold-flow”) and shall not be used for dynamic applications in water. UTECFLON-1 is compliant with FDA regulations.

Glass fiber filled PTFE with 5% MoS2 / UTECFLON-2

UTECFLON-2 is a PTFE (Polytetrafluorethylene) filled with 15% glass and 5% Molybdenumdisulfide (MoS2). The glass fillers improve the wear resistance and compressive strength of the material and make it more resistant to extrusion while MoS2 improves the gliding properties. Glass fillers have excellent chemical compatibility and UTECFLON-2 has similar chemical resistance and can be used in the same temperature range like virgin PTFE. PTFE shall not be used for dynamic applications in water.

Bronze filled PTFE with3% MoS2 / UTECFLON-3

UTECFLON-3 is a PTFE (Polytetrafluorethylene) filled with 40% bronze and 3% Molybdenumdisulfide (MoS2). The bronze fillers improve the wear resistance and compressive strength of the material and make it more resistant to extrusion. MoS2 improves the gliding properties. It has similar chemical resistance and can be used in the same temperature range like virgin PTFE. PTFE shall not be used for dynamic applications in water.

Carbon filled PTFE with 5%graphite / UTECFLON-4

UTECFLON-4 is a PTFE (Polytetrafluorethylene) filled with 20% carbon powder and 5% graphite. The carbon fillers improve the wear resistance and compressive strength of the material and make it more resistant to extrusion while graphite provides excellent gliding properties. UTECFLON-4 has similar chemical resistance and can be used in the same temperature range like virgin PTFE. PTFE shall not be used for dynamic applications in water.
